LINDA JEAN NICHOLSON
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Linda Jean Nicholson is rooted in PEI - as all
four of her grandparents were from here.  A researcher, writer and business
person, Linda Jean brings a wealth of experience to her position as Executive
Director.  

She has a BA in sociology and criminal justice, with additional studies in
accounting (Bentley University) and conflict resolution (University of PEI).  Before
moving to PEI in 1999, Linda worked in business management and as an
accountant at two suburban Boston CPA firms.

Since arriving on the Island, she has been primarily involved in the non-profit
sector and as a researcher, teacher and writter.  A genealogist for over thirty years,
Linda Jean is past president of the PEI Genealogical Society.  She was editor of
the PEI Genealogical Society and the Belfast Historical Society newsletters and in
2002, she co-edited
The Past is Before Us, a history published by the Belfast
Historical Society (BHS).  In 2004, she co-authored
Leap Over Time (published by
BHS) and in 2005 she authored
Early PEI Probate Records, 1786 to 1850, a 300-
plus page reference guide with abstracts from all early PEI probate documents.  
Currently, Linda Jean has a genealogy column in
RED Magazine.  Her story "Eyes
Wide Open" appeared in
Chicken Soup for the Soul  - O Canada  released in
November 2011.

Linda Jean has been Executive Director of  the PEI Senior Citizens’ Federation
since 2008.

BARBARA YOUNG
Barbara was born and raised on PEI.  She attended Southport School and Prince
of Wales College.  In 1971, she moved with her husband and 2 small children to
New Brunswick while her husband pursued his career as a Store Manager with
Sobeys Stores Ltd.  While living in Fredericton, Barbara worked in the Accounting
Office of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for 10 years.  

In 1987, Barbara and her family returned to Charlottetown, where Barbara and her
husband owned and operated a Convenience Store/Gas Bar for 9 years and a
Cleaning/Janitorial operation for 3 years.  Barbara also worked as a data entry
clerk at a local Call Centre for 9 years at which time, she decided to retire.  In
2009, Barbara decided that she would like to return to the work force and applied
for the position as part-time Administrative Assistant with the Federation.

Barbara and her husband keep active by walking and biking the Confederation
Trail, working out at the Spa Total Fitness Centre and exploring the Maritimes
while riding around on their Harley Davidson Motorcycle when weather permits.

AARON BROWN
Born in Cape Breton and raised in Upper Sackville, Nova Scotia, Aaron came to
the Island on a basketball scholarship to Holland College. He graduated from
Holland College with a diploma in Sport and Leisure Management, and Marketing
and Advertising.  

Aaron enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and keeping active.  He began working for
the PEI Senior Citizens’ Federation in May of 2011 and is looking forward to
meeting and working with seniors in computer courses offered across the Island.

Lemieux of Murray Harbour.
